Wooden Jewelry Box Knowledge Base
How do I make a wooden jewelry or shoe box? I was wondering how I can make a wooden jewelry box. I wont have access to any machines or anything like that, Im plannin on getting the materials just at my local home depot. A list of materials would also come in handy, if anyone can add suggestions. I want the box to be about the size of a regular shoe box, and nothing fancy, just a box with a lid that opens up, used for storage of keepsakes that include photos, letters, etc. I also plan on engraving something in the front, maybe with a knife, any suggestions to this would also be appreciated.
How can I repair a wooden jewelry box? I recently bought a wooden jewelry box. The people at the store had put tape on it to keep the doors from falling out in transit. When I removed the tape, the top layer of the wood where the tape was attached came off. The flaw is huge and quite unattractive. What can I do to repair it or totally change the appearance? Thanks in advance. Thanks for the ideas so far yall. Unfortunately, returning is not an options. Sigh....
Where can I buy a wooden jewelry box in person? I would like to buy my sister-in-law a wooden jewelry box for her birthday. I would like to go to a physical, as opposed to online, store to buy it so I can check it out in person. I'm not crafty or creative enough to build one myself. I live in eastern Massachusetts.
Where should I look for a wood jewelry box in Chicago? I'm looking for a gift of a wooden jewelry box. Where can I find a place in Chicago that sells a decent variety of them, preferably one that plays music. (Basically, I'd rather not go out to SF Music Box Co. in the suburbs.) Thanks!
Tudor Rose wooden box? Does anyone know where I can find a wooden box (jewelry or otherwise) with a Tudor Rose etched/painted/inlay on it? (other than ebay, or the other obvious online auctions.)
Where can I find plain, cheap, wooden jewellery boxes? I'm doing a school trade fair and I need cheap wooden boxes with a hinge that I can customize myself. And I need there not to be a huge postage and packaging fee, I need it as cheap as possible. Any help would be appreciated :]
Anywhere that sells wooden boxes/Cigar boxes for cheap? I'm planning on customising a bunch of wooden boxes, like jewelry boxes. But I can't find anywhere that sells them for cheap. most websites have already done thiers up and I dont want to spend loads of money on them only to do my own things to them. Does anyone know anywhere in the UK that sells anything like it? or empty wooden Cigar boxes; because that would have the same effect. i want a few but the cheaper the better I say! The closer to manchester the better. but i'm getting a bit desperate! thanks :)
can anyone help please regarding personalised gift/jewellery box? hi a few months ago i was browsing the internet and came across this site, where they did personalised boxes e.g you could get a nice wooden jewellery like box with a gold metal plate on it, personally engraved with what ever you wanted. I really want to get this for my father as his birthday is coming up, but i just can't seem to find that site anymore. does anyone know please thanks.
What book should all teenagers have read by the time they graduate high school? Say you were a rich benefactor and you wanted to give a graduation gift to all the young people who were graduating high school in your city. You wanted it to be a book that had meaning and would help them form an opinion of the heritage of humanity. Which book would you award the graduates? I was thinking of this because when I graduated, a local furniture store gave each of us a wooden jewelry box, and other businesses gave us coupons for free things. How much more memorable would a book have been?
How would one make a small (maybe upholstered) wooden box? Essentially a jewelry box. I'll be making them for friends and maybe a couple to sell. As well I am planning a small 'leave-behind' art project. I'd rather make them because I want it to be a very personal experience, and also I figure if I'd like to have a dozen, it'll be cheaper to build on my own. I'll be carving designs into the lids using my Dremel tool, and I feel like I can design it in my head as is, but I'd like an experienced person's knowledge as a guide. The boxes I'd like to construct would be roughly 2" deep,10" tall, and about 8" wide. Some I shall attach hinges and small latches to. Some will just be lift off lids. I'd also like to experiment with handles of some kind. Any advice will be appreciated. Thanks.
How do you remove sticker glue from wood? I found an old wooden jewelry box of my mom's that is in pretty good condition, but a while ago she let somebody borrow it and they put a sticker on the inside of the lid. The sticker peeled off, but there is sticky glue residue left behind; any suggestions on how to get it off?
Pleeeease... can someone help me find this music box? It's just a simple yellow jewelry box, wooden..with a twirling ballerina. And it plays 'Love Story'. Even if you can pleease help me to find this in a different color, I'll just paint it. I can't locate it anywhere. Thank you, it's for my twin. Where can I get something like a box for Tibetan Buddhist prayers? I don't mean the jewellery, but actual wooden boxes. I don't want to damage them. Is there a special item that is used in Tibetan Buddhism that holds prayers? If there is a special box, etc. to buy online in the UK, I would be grateful for the name and where I can get it, thank you!

What do you think of my novel so far? I found the letter in my attic only a week after Mom and I moved in. I was angry with her for putting my photo album in the musty attic that smelled like moldy wood and lavender. Not a sweet lavender either, a strong smell. It gave me a head ache. I pulled hard on the metal chain that dangled from the ceiling. The smell of the attic wafted down to me and I pulled the ladder down slowly. The hot moisture leaked down, dripped on me. My mother and I had gotten into an argument. “That photo album is not meant to be cried over every night, Victoria.” My mother said to me as she sat a glass on the kitchen counter. The setting summer sun cast a glow through the large window behind the sink, turning my mothers light brown hair a striking red. I always admired her messy bun, her smooth features, but in the moment I despised it all. She was right, she always was, but I didn’t care. I wanted to look at my pictures. I needed to read the letter people wrote to me, saying goodbye. I missed my friends. “It’s mine, Mom,” I said to her, eyes welled with tears. “I can do whatever the hell I want with it.” Her eyes were angry for a second, but they softened the longer she stared at me. She understood my pain, and for some reason I resented it. I stormed out of the kitchen and turned down the hallway. I ran up the wooden stairs with my hand on the railing. I felt like I couldn’t breathe. But as I climbed up the ladder, I left my anger behind me. There weren’t very many boxes of ours because we didn’t really have much, so what I was looking for was not hard to find. There it sat on a box labeled Tori, in my mothers hand writing. The album was large and hard to pick up; all the memories weighed it down. It was dark purple, intricately designed with lilacs and reds. I remember when I bought it. I was thirteen years old and spent my whole sixty dollars on it at an arts and crafts store in California when I went to visit my father for the summer. My mother was furious that he let me waste my money, but I think he was trying to teach me the importance of a dollar. I held the album tightly to my chest as I neared the ladder, head throbbing by now. That’s when I saw the dead mouse. I sat my album on the ground and bent down next to the creature. IT was lying on its side, eyes closed, as if it were sleeping. Its chest did not rise and fall, though. Its fragile body had been lifeless for a while. When I got to the kitchen for some paper towels, I told my mother about the mouse. “Maybe we should give it a proper burial,” she suggested. I nodded in agreement. “That’d be nice,” I said, heading back upstairs. When I got back in the attic I wrapped the mouse’s hard body in the soft paper towels my mother bought. I stood up carefully with the mouse, and that’s when the wooden box caught my eye. It looked to my like maybe an old jewelry box of some kind. I picked it up, intrigued. I hoped something was inside of it, eager to unhinge a piece of the past from its dusty grave. Inside there were papers, probably letters. All of them were wrinkled and darker with age. They were tied together perfectly by a scarlet ribbon. I wouldn’t have touched it, but I saw two letters escape from beneath the ribbon. IA. With a careful hand I moved the ribbon. My heart thumped in my chest before I could even think. There in perfect cursive was my name. Victoria. (The format is all weird, it's not really like that. So just ignore that. Haha. What do you think?)

My husband gave me an empty box for Christmas..? My husband gave me an empty box for Christmas..? A little wooden decorative box (inexpensive), with nothing inside. That was my only gift. He says he thought I would like it, and didn't understand why it made me sad. Is this an appropriate Christmas gift? * 8 hours ago * - 4 days left to answer. Additional Details He used to buy jewelry and nice things. I wouldn't care about the money if he made it or it had some purpose. In this case, I know he went to TJ maxx Christmas eve night and bought it. For those of you who asked, I bought him the super-expensive earphones he wanted, and made him a stocking full of sweets. I also bought a bunch of stuff for his recently-divorced mother, and prepared a huge dinner. No, it's not about how much money he spent, it's that he put no thought into it. Even if he put a note or a candy bar inside, or made the box himself it would have been better than just an empty box. He and I make the same amount of money, and aren't in financial trouble.
musical ballerina jewellery box? where can i get nice wooden one for xmas for becca. any ideas .please help sorry its under wrong category .but what would it go under ha xx

read if you are an interesting person :)? ookay, my friend wrote this, and wants to know if its any good. shes freakkin out cuz she has to turn it in, and thinks it sucks. this is only the first paragraph, but what do youu think? :) "Blythe Carlyle felt pre-party flutters directly behind her belly button. It was ten minutes before she got into her families custom made limousine, and cruised down park avenue, to the Vanity Fair opening party, and she still hadn’t decided on what earrings to wear with her floor length, Grecian inspired Theia evening gown. Her heart skipped a beat when she heard her mother, Olivia Carlyle, knock loudly on the door. Blythe! Come down, Ivan is waiting!”, she yelled through the closed door, her hand still on the diamond encrusted knob. “Okay, Mom! I’m coming!”, she responded. Blythe knew Ivan, her driver of six years, wouldn’t have a problem waiting a few minutes. She quickly rummaged through her custom made wooden and ruby covered jewelry box for the diamond drop earrings she had just recently gotten for her sixteenth birthday. Once she slid them in, took one last glance in her Kallista vanity, and gracefully made her way through the hall of the huge penthouse apartment that her family owned." tenth grade,

We found lots of old/antique items, how do we find out what they're worth and who to take them to to sell? My brother just bought a house and they found several OLD items hidden away under a stairwell. How do we find out what these items are worth and where would we sell them for the best profit? There are several paintings, a jewelry box, some figurines, an electric mixer, a small wooden cabinet/table with drawers and hinged compartments, some sort of antique shoe maker, a really old and large contraption that looks like it was used as a bottle/cork opener and several old soda bottles and bottle caps. He's looking to sell these items but doesn't want to get cheated since he has no clue what these things would be worth. Can anyone help?
Any opinions/help welcome. What's your opinion for a bridal party gift? What do you think would be a good gift? What do you think we (bride and groom to be) should spend? Would you prefer a keepsake or short-lived treasure (say, jewelry or food)? I am drawing a blank on what to give. My fiance and I have 5 bridesmaids, 5 groomsmen, 2 flowergirls. None of them are travelling for the wedding, but they have all put in their time and money. I want to show them I truely appreciate them. Having never been in a wedding myself, I have no clue where to even begin. I know that the groomsmen (and my fiance) have been in a bunch of weddings where they have received: a beer mug, a "poker set" (deck of cards, pencil and paper in a fine wooden box), a flask, and shot glass. All personalized. Not so sure on the bridesmaids. I know I don't want to get them jewelry for the wedding (though I haven't completely eliminated jewelry in general) because they picked their own dresses and they're all different, I don't want to them to have the same jewelry. Thank you
Dream: In a church drinking wine, spilt the wine- Interpret please? Hi, I had a dream that I was sitting with the priest in church and he was telling me that a glass of wine a day was good for a person. I looked at him and saw that he had the face of a heavy drinker. I nodded in agreement - although my interpretation of what he said was, drink but don't go overboard. He told me to have a sip of the wine and I picked up the glass and drank some. As I was aiming to put the glass down I split some wine and it nearly poured onto a wooden box the priest had, containing gold religious jewelry (old small crosses etc). I quickly went to wipe the spill, relieved that it hadn't touched the box. After finishing the glass of wine I felt slightly tipsy in my dream and wandered over to the back part of the church. 3 girls from my high school (I knew them in 2001) were there, sitting and talking. I waved at them because they hadn't recognised me. It was a bit of an awkward 'oh hey' moment. I told them that I was in was working in the church. 2 girls looked pleased, as if I was one of them.. they seemed religious in my dream. I then added 'and I don't even believe in any of this'. They looked disappointed, and I felt sad that I'd lost that feeling of belonging even if it had existed for 30 secs. I told myself in the dream that the situation was an experience. We all exchanged numbers. I was happy but I doubted that we'd get in contact - one girl who wasn't one of the 2 religious girls, I wanted to keep in contact with. We had fallen out in 2001. Could anyone analyze elements of this dream?

Would You Read Old Love Letters Found Packed Away? I have been cleaning my basement out for over a week now sorting threw all the things that just ended up down there; I even came across a bag of garbage meant to be put out years ago for the garbage man to collect! I have gone as far as polishing the ceiling beams and old wooden staircase, and washed the crumbling floor. I finally made my way to the back of the basement where large plastic bins were. I forgot where they came from. Upon opening them I found a few bins of my toys, clothes and other things from when I was a child, and a few bins that were each of my (now grown) children’s toys and things. One bin has my daughter’s old jewelry box with things my mom passed on to her (because my daughter was named after her) and… many letters from her friends, including a group tide with a red ribbon. I remember her liking the boy but never realized he sent her so many letters. Many years ago my son/her brother went in her room and read letters from a girlfriend then wanted me to punish her for what was in one letter. I punished him for snooping! The first letter is dated fourteen years ago when she was sixteen. If you were me, would you read these letters now? I am curious, but… Why is everyone aauming there are bad things in her letters. I thought good things were probably in them. Also, she recently told me that she was not the angle I always thought she was, and told me she did do some bad things. I tend to not believe she had it in her to do what she told me she did and felt the letters may prove me right. I still do not feel right reading them, and the person who answered first is right, I wouldn't want someone else reading mine- I suspect mine to be much worse than hers!
Help! I'm getting married and I don't want to have sex!? Well, that sure could use some explaining... So it's like this: I'm 21, and I'm planning my wedding. My fiance's the most incredible guy on the face of the planet, and I adore him. There's just one problem: I cannot even think about having sex with him. The minute my thoughts wander there, I immediately "change the subject". Allow me to back up a bit. Andrei and I first met when we were 8 years old, playing at each other's houses when our moms came over to talk...then we developed secret crushes on each other when we were teenagers and had become best friends...then we fell headlong in love with each other as young adults. We were each other's first (and last!) loves, and never had eyes for anyone else. A few months ago (about a year after we started dating) Andrei surprised me with a beautiful wooden box he made himself containing a gorgeous diamond ring, and asked me to share his life with him. Naturally I said yes. (Actually it was more like YESYESYES!!!...) I think a brief description of my fiance is in order. Andrei is tall, lean, 20 years old, handsome in a boy-next-door sort of way. Thick dark hair and twinkly blue eyes, you know. He, like me, is the firstborn in a conservative family and raised accordingly. A terrific big brother and role model, and responsible beyond his years. He's a student in college now, an English major. He likes all the ame things I do: reading epic literature and good poets, going for long hikes when it's windy and wild out, mind-challenging board games, poking around in dusty antique stores, traveling, exploring, snowboarding, and working with his hands; but his two greatest loves are music and writing. He's an accomplished pianist and composer, but he also loves simply listening to new music all the time. He's obsessed with writing in all its forms, and he's GOOD at it. He'll be an author someday, I'm surprised he's not one already. Having said that, it shouldn't surprise you to hear he's something like the Quintessential Hopeless Romantic. I have a box full of letters that would make most girls scream with jealousy. Andrei's never at a loss for what to get me on special occasions, either...a few examples would be the handmade jewelry, the wax-sealed valentines, the leather scrapbook with pictures of us, the song he wrote, composed, performed and sung just for me...you get the idea. He's basically Creativity embodied. (Oh yes--and he's making our wedding bands.) Now this is where it gets complicated. He and I are both virgins, and believe in waiting for marriage. We've never spoken about sex. Not because of some rule or anything--it's just never come up, and neither of us is an any hurry to bring it up, you might say. Mind you, we talk all the time -- probably about 6 hours a week of good, solid conversation. We've got fantastic communication...about everything else. We've even discussed having children (we both want 'em, and lots of 'em) -- but never the process whereby you obtain children...! The thing is, he's a perfect gentleman in every regard. He's protective and chivalrous around me without being remotely sexist...he will tell you in no uncertain terms that he considers me his superior in almost everything. (I say he's wrong, but anyway...) He is the one person who understands me the best, and who I trust the most. So it's not that I'm the least bit afraid of him when it comes to thinking about sex. And don't think for a minute that the problem is I'm just not attracted to him in *that* way...I am! I think he's sexy as hell! For me, the happiest place in the world is in his arms. He's always kissing my cheek, hand, forehead, hair, etc... rubbing my back, stroking my face, putting his foot on mine under the table... Our very first kiss (note: this was not only 'our' first kiss, but also my/his first kiss -- no prior relationships, remember??) started out as a gentle, experimental touch on the lips and quickly escalated to fast and furious with lots of tongue in about 6 seconds flat. (When we finally pulled away, we just stared at each other, like "whoa, what just happened?!" Pretty funny actually.) So apparently we've got great chemistry and all...but... I just can't stand the idea of having sex!!! It's like...well for one, I can't imagine that a guy wouldn't be grossed out (or at least weirded out) at seeing his girl all awkwardly splayed out on a bed with her legs in the air, after only ever thinking of her, for years, looking pretty and sweet in cute outfits and such...I mean...ewwwww. I just cringe at the thought. In a way I almost feel like it'd be easier (or at least less embarrassing) having sex with a complete stranger! Kind of like how it's not a big deal to have a doctor see you naked? And I can't help but feel like, once we "do it", that he'll never see me/think of me the same...like we'll lose something from our relationship. I guess it's just kind of hard to envision what it will be like, after years without knowing what we look
I need a perfect gift for my (buddhist) sister's quinceanera? It will be a joint gift from me and my mother, most likely, and she suggested a musical jewelry box, which I think my sister would like, but she's NOT "girly" at all and and she'd want one to reflect that, I believe. Still, something pretty and tasteful that she can keep forever...all I can find are wooden ones though...and I think she'd prefer a silver one, but I also want a customized song, and I don't know where to look...so I could really lose some help, pretty please. (Her birthday is in June, so before then, please.) yes, well, she's half puerto rican and they want to through her one, but i just wanted to point out the fact that she wouldn't want any religious gifts (which is common for the occasion, or so i'm told).
Adopt a project—gain media, marketing exposure! Feel good! Take a chance. Something new for you!? Here’s an opportunity to show your talent. Adopt a century home in Hartville, Ohio. Make the first floor a retro store and the upstairs an apartment. It’s already divided and structurally sound. The people who lived in it before made a real mess. We’ve been cleaning and gutting it for days. This is a great media opportunity to shine! All local and national TV and print media will be contacted and invited to cover the event. Local radio and other media will also be invited. As a journalist, I will write an article about the experience. And you can put a permanent sign advertising your name services. Previously I had a tiny boutique in Hartville. We did well, but the space was too small to carry enough product to really make any money. We closed and moved our merchandise to other area boutiques. Merchandise is an eclectic array of mostly USA-made jewelry, clothing, accessories, books. Funky stuff. Men’s’ women’s’ kids’ stuff. Some even new. Products we are considering (we had most before)previously owned, like-new clothing and accessories, home décor, antiques, books (used and new), hand-blown glass beads (made in the USA), hand-made wooden cigar box purses (made in the USA), purse-making supplies, rare antique wooden cigar boxes and cigar box purse-making materials, Burt’s Bees Products and Watkins Products. It’s an eclectic mix of vintage and new. All upscale. No musty smells, and I act as a personal shopper to customers—tracking their likes and calling them if I have something I know they would enjoy. Previously I took articles on consignment, though it was a hassle. The feel of a New York posh shop is what I had at my tiny boutique. Now I have the first floor of a century home in the downtown business district of Hartville, Ohio. We’re also remodeling upstairs for a tenant, and landscaping. I’m looking for a creative team to adopt my project. Thank you for your consideration. Silent investors welcome. References available (from customers, friends, employers). Thank you.
Cute way to say thank you? My maid of honor threw me a BEAUTIFUL bridal shower and even got my mom to fly out to come! I want to say thanks in more than just a card. I am making a book of pictures for a gift to give her at the rehearsal dinner, but for the shower I wanted to give her a little gift to say thank you. She REALLY loves Willowtree (these cute wooden carved figurines) so I got her a little willowtree box that says "Thank You" on it http://www.catholicsupply.com/christmas/_borders/16665.JPG I am just wondering what I can put in the box. She really isn't into jewelry too much (allergic to most metals) but I want to put in something cute. Any cute ideas?
Please read and tell me if it sounds any good.? Junar is sending out Silents to obtain any unmarkables found. The Silents are reportedly going undercover as unmarkables to find other gangs, it was also reported that they have certified permits to enter into any building in Durium unless permits have been shown that the building is private. Junar assures this is the best way to keep trouble from Durium but other members of the high court disagree at his- Alea turned down the radio and glared sharply at me as I stopped washing the dishes. “Stupid maid.” She muttered from beneath her breath but clear as day. I looked up angrily at her, and roughly scrubbed the last dish clean placing it on the rack with a clatter. I stood from the stool I sat and walked loudly to the doorway. “You are only mad because of your beloved Hunry .” I spat back. Alea jumped at me but I quickly ran to my room on the far end of the hall I was near. She stumbled and held herself up against the yellowish wall as her foot hit the corner I had turned so swiftly. With haste I ran swiftly into my room and locked the door behind me quietly, I walked now slouched and tired over to my thin clothed bed and sat once more. I slowly took off each tightened boot and unraveled my ribboned hair, leaving the white silk ribbon in a bow on the headboard pole. I lazily scratched my worn sticky back and lay fully in the cool cottony sheets, they smelled of apple rose cinnamon. I snuggled my head quaintly into the pillow breathing deeply, Odelet must have been here while evening chores were to be done. I lay quietly resting for a long while wafting in the smells of apples Odelet had left, she always smelled faintly of apples because she seemed to make an apple pie everyday for someone in the estate. Thinking of her I wondered faintly if she left a small snack, I waited still in thought for a lone moment, then my tum started to grumble and I stumbled up and over my clutter to the small table on the other side of my well built room. To my joy I saw a small nicely wrapped box in the center, I hastily scrambled it open to find a small sponge cake with tiny strawberries laid neatly on top. I rummage through the draw closest to the table and grabbed the smallest spoon and started to dig my first, very petite, spoonful into it, a sudden faint but clear knock tapped on the old door. I close the box quickly and put it on the bookshelf facing away from the door as I scuttle to the wooden entrance. After the lock snaps I slowly open it and peek through. “Hailey its me.” A smile brightened my face as I let the guest in and closed the door swiftly behind him. “Is uh, Coops ok? He seemed a little… upturned the last time I saw him… I saw he was heading out somewhere but no one knew too much about it…” I walked over to the fireplace and put a log on the small already brewing fire, and then worked my way back to the table sitting across from Mud. “Oh…” his face vanished as he stared at the fire emptily. “He was out runnin’ an errand... You know the Mistress likes her fine jewelry, well they sent Coops out to Halins to get a poralene stone for one of the Mistress’s new necklaces. Real pretty stuff. But anyways, after he had got the stone he started headin’ back but those horses were mighty tired after the days ride so he had to stay in a farm somewhere just out of the city.” Mud paused. “Malid was there too.” I gasped, Malid only went places for something real important, and the Mistress collected stones all the time. It seemed odd as him being the second rider. “Well late in the night Silents rode in… They saw Coops hand first… it was the gold chip. The one his brother gave him from one of the most wanted unmarkable gangs. When the leader Silent saw it he just up and shot him to death.” A shiver ran up my spine as I heard the cold deathly words protrude from his mouth. “And… Malid?” I asked not trying to rush his story. “Well, I guess them Silents are trickable, which seems darn near impossible figuring they killed half of Gullopid last summer moon. ‘Cause Malid got away. And everyone knows he be a unmarkable…” he paused putting his gaze back on me. “Did you see what he did to Franks? He upright turned him blue in a blink of an eye. Franks be ok but it sure frightened him. From what I see, he ain’t to be trusted… Malid that is. Ain’t no one use their marks in public, specially some rat who worships ol’ miss tiny sandwich Weeden the mistress…” he smiled and chuckled slightly then his gaze turned serious again. “How long you think it’ll be before the Silents make it here?” I looked down at the worn table. “Halins is only three cities from the kingdom, and its only been a bit over a week since the search began. I guess they might be here in two days. Cause it’s a days ride on fast horses without stopping, but if their checking each house it’ll take twice as long.” I looked back at his orangey eyes and freckled cheeks.

Preview: 3rd Person Chapter 1(maybe) The first time Delilah and John met was their life snapshot. The Kansas sun shined above in the pristine blue sky. The navy blue lake glimmered back and the water stood at stand-still. The girl stripped of her t-shirt and sunglasses and dived off the old wooden dock. Snap! With her black- bikini-clad body in mid air in a graceful dive position, John watched and studied the new girl in town. There he sat, inches away from the lake on the hot grass, getting sprinkled with warm lake water watching her come up and gasp for air. As Delilah’s eyes adjusted they focused on the boy her age staring at her. She smiled nervously before pulling herself out of the water. That night Delilah nearly finished unpacking. Moving from Suffield, Connecticut to a name, Kansas had been one of the most difficult times of her life. Moving here would be like starting over for Delilah, like a new life without the Suffield Academy tigers at her side. Just before Delilah was about to slice open the last cardboard box her mother called from downstairs. “It’s time to go to dinner with the neighbors, sweetie.” “And make sure you look nice,” her dad added from the back of the house. “Who are we going to see?” “Some old friends ours, actually they have a boy that’s your age.” The house just happened to be just next to theirs, she thought it would at least be a 2-minute car drive. Chapter 2: 1st person Delilah Everything came across me so quickly. The moment I was drug through the door, two strangers hugged me and introduced themselves as Mr. and Mrs. O’Leary. My eyes studied the house, it was the exact same as ours, except not as empty and well decorated. I heard footsteps come from the direction of where the stairs would be. I looked up to see a badly sun burnt boy carrying a guitar standing next to his parents. “And this is our son, John,” Mrs. O’Leary introduced. He extended his hand, I quickly shook it. “I’m Delilah,” I threw out quickly. “Well, why don’t you two go upstairs, watch some television or maybe John you could show Delilah that computer you obsess over,” Mr. O’Leary suggested. John gestured up the stairs and I followed. As I climbed the creamy carpeted staircase I watched his black Samba sneakers confidently step up as he held his guitar in one hand. As we made it to the top of the stairs he showed me his room.

i know its very long but it was allllllll good, so what do you think? Men vs. Women Men and women are not alike. Sure, you thought you already knew that. But now we have conculsive proof! After countless hours of surveys and studies on the following topics, these facts have emerged: RELATIONSHIPS: First, a man does not call a relationshipo a relationship - he refers to it as "that time when me and Suzie were boinking on a semi-regular basis." When a relationship ends, a woman will cry and pour her heart out to her girlfriends, and she will write a poem titled "All Men Are Idiots." Then she will get on with her life. A man has a little more trouble letting go. Six months after the breakup - at 3 am early on a Sunday morning - he will call and say "I just wanted you to let you know you ruined my life, and I'll never forgive you, and I hate you, and you're a total floozy. But I want you to know there's always a chance for us." This is known as the "I Hate You/I Love You" drunken phone call, that 99% of all men have made at least once. There are community colleges that offer courses to help men get over this need; alas these classes rarely prove effective. SEX: Women prefer 30-45 minutes of foreplay. Men prefer 30-45 seconds of foreplay. Men consider driving back to her place as part of the foreplay. MATURITY: Women mature much faster than men. Most 17-year-old females can function as adults. Most 17-year-old males are still trading baseball cards and giving each other wedgies after gym class. This is why high school romances rarely work out. HATS: Women look good in hats; men look like dinks. HANDWRITING: To their credit, men do not decorate their penmanship. They just chicken-scratch. Women use scented, colored stationery and they dot their "i's" with circles and hearts. Women use ridiculously large loops in their "p's" and "g's." It is a royal pain to read a note from a woman. Even when she's dumping you, she'll put a smiley face at the end of the note. BATHROOMS: A man has at most six items in his bathroom - a toothbrush, toothpaste, shaving crewam, razor, a bar of soap, and a towel from the Holiday Inn. The average number of items in a typical woman's bathroom is 437. A man would not be able to identify most of these items. MAGAZINES: Men's magazines often feature pictures of naked women. Women's magazines also feature pictures of naked women. This is because the female body is a beautiful work of art, while the male body is hairy and lumpy and should not be seen by the light of day. GOING OUT: When a man says he's ready to go out, it means he's ready to go out. When a woman says she's ready to go out, it means that she WILL be ready to go out, as soon as she finds her other earring, finishes putting on her makeup... LEG WARMERS: Leg warmers are sexy. A woman, even if she's walking the dog or doing the dishes, is allowed to wear leg warmers. She can wear them any time she wants. A man can only ear leg warmers if he is auditioning for the "Gimme the Ball" number in "A Chorus Line." CATS: Women love cats. Men say they love cats, but when women aren't looking, men kick cats. MIRRORS: Men are vain; they will check themselves out in the mirror. Women are ridiculous; they will check out their reflections in any shiny surface - mirrors, spoons, store windows, toasters, Joe Garagiola's head... GARAGES: Women use garages to parke their cars and to store their lawnmowers. Men use garages for many things. They hang license plates in garages, they watch TV in garages, and they build useless wooden things in garages. MOVIES: For women, their favorite movie scene is when Clark Gable kisses Vivien Leigh for the first time in "Gone With The Wind." For men, it's when Jimmy Cagney shoves a grapefruit in Mae Clark's face in "Public Enemy." JEWELRY: Women look nice when they wear jewelry. A man can get away with wearing one ring, and that's it. Any more than that, and he will look like a lounge singer named Vic. MENOPAUSE: When a woman reaches menopause, she goes through a variety of complicated emotional, psychological, and biological changes. The nature and degree of the changes varies with the individual. Menopause in a man provokes a uniform reaction. He buys aviator glasses, a snazzy French cap and leather driving gloves, and goes shopping for an expensive foreign sports car. LOW BLOWS: Let's say a man and a woman are watching a boxing match on television, and one of the fighters is felled by a low blow. The woman says "Oh, gee, that must hurt." The man doubles over and actually feels pain. ADMITTING MISTAKES: Women will sometimes admit making a mistake. The last man who admitted that he was wrong was Gen. George Custer. RICHARD GERE: Women like Richard Gere because he is sexy in a dangerous way. Men hate Richard Gere because he reminds them of that slick guy who works out at the health club and dates only married women. NUDITY IN MOVIES: Every actress in the history of movies has had to do a nude scene. This is because every movie in the history of movies has been produced by men. The only actor who has ever appeard nude in the movies is Richard Gere. This is another reason why men hate him. DAVID LETTERMAN: Men think David Letterman is the funniest man on the face of the earth. Women think he is a mean, semi-dorky guy who always has a bad haircut. LOCKER ROOMS: In the locker room, men talk about three things: money, football, and women. They exaggerate about money, they don't know football nearly as well as they think they do, and they fabricate stories about women. Women talk about one thing in the locker room - sex. Not in abstract terms, either. They're graphic and technical, and they *never* lie. LAUNDRY: Women do laundry every couple of days. A man will wear every article of clothing he owns, including his surgical pants that were hip about eight years ago, before he will do his laundry. When he is finally out of clothes, he will wear a dirty sweatshirt inside out, rent a U-Haul and take his mountain of clothes to the laundromat, and expect to meet a beautiful woman while he is there. WEDDINGS: When reminiscing about weddings, women talk about the "ceremony." Men talk about "the bachelor party." SOCKS: Men wear sensible socks. They wear standard white sweatsocks. Women wear strange socks. They are cut way below the ankles, have pictures of clouds on them, and have a big fuzzy ball on the back. PLANTS: A woman will ask a man to water her plants while she is on vacation. The man will water the plants. The woman returns five days later, to an apartment full of dead plants. No one knows why this happens. MUSTACHES: Some men look good with mustaches: Tom Selleck and Burt Reynolds. There are no women who look good with mustaches. NICKNAMES: With the exception of female body-builders, who call each other names like "Ultimate Pecs" and "Big Turk," women eschew the use of nicknames. If Gloria, Suzanne, Deborah and Michelle get together for lunch, they will call each other Gloria, Suzanne, Deborah and Michelle. But if Mike, Dave and Jack go out for a brewski, they will affectionately refer to each other as Bullet-Head, Peanut-Brain, and Useless.
what is this movie? It's not matrix nor Dogma? there is a machine that makes everything in the world a hidden from the desert planet it really is. in reality the food, the houses/buildings, clothes, everything created by humans are nothing more than plain food, and boxes or pieces of wood with a bar code printed onto with the name of what it actually is. the machine disguises as so cloaks everything to seem as its fancy jewelry, guns, good food, beautiful houses and buildings, fur coats, etc. to hide the world of what it really is. i believe the government does this. anyways, theres a man/woman he/she might be in jail I'm not sure, but knows that everything isn't as it seems and escapes to try to show or prove to everyone he/she not crazy. well I can't exactly remember it, but one part he/she is running from the cops and the cops are shooting but in reality are holdin wooden blocks shooting nothing, and are dumbfounded as how he/she is not getting shot. well he/she escapes into a swere no one can see. At the end people see what.
